Re-Opening Day Set For
This Friday, June 12, 2020

PAUMA VALLEY, CALIF. (June 8, 2020) — Casino Pauma was one of the first casinos in its region to voluntarily close and one of the last to re-open. Casino Pauma has been temporarily closed since March 15 in an effort to further reduce the spread of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) pandemic and protect their guests, team members, and community. Casino Pauma announced today that it will incrementally open, beginning this Friday, June 12, 2020, at 6 a.m. PDT and will resume operating 24 hours a day.

“The Pauma Band of Luiseño Indians and Casino Pauma continue to commit to our core value, ‘Where People Come First,’ ” said Jim Thomason, General Manager of Casino Pauma. “Because we are a smaller local casino that does not have a hotel, spa, pool, and other amenities like the larger resorts, it is far easier to manage safety for our guests. Our guests can expect to be around smaller crowds compared to the mega resorts that surround us. Our staff has worked tirelessly to make Casino Pauma a safer environment. Not only did we shut down alternate slot machines, but took an extra step and reconfigured our entire gaming floor to offer a more spacious and dynamic gaming experience. Casino Pauma has never looked better and we are excited to welcome back our guests.”

During Casino Pauma’s temporary closing, it remained busy preparing and implementing safety protocols and preventive measures to help its guests feel safe and comfortable. Safety protocols and measures now in effect include the following:

• Face mask and temperature screening will be required for everyone, including guests and Team Members, entering Casino Pauma
•Social distancing standards are in place
•A reconfigured gaming floor that offers more space between slot banks and alternate slot machines will be turned off
•No more than three players will be allowed per table game
•Plexiglass shields have been installed at the cage, Players Club, food & beverage outlets and other areas
•Additional hand sanitation and wipe stations have been installed throughout Casino Pauma
•Daily deep-cleaning procedures which include the use of CDC-approved Triton Disinfectant
•Stringent staff training in the correct application of personal protective measures per OSHA standards
•Increased filter replacement of hospital grade microbial filters for all air handling systems

This will be an incremental opening based on phases. During the first phase, Casino Pauma will open with occupancy limits and no valet parking; no busing program; no poker room; no buffet, and no live entertainment. It is the plan to phase in these programs and services as circumstances in the surrounding area continue to improve. Visit casinopauma.com for more information.
